Short version

What data is collected

Survey responses

When you complete the public sentiment survey, we collect: your numeric responses (0–5) to ten Likert statements; the demographic boxes you choose to fill in (age band, state, sport followed, parent status); and a server-generated timestamp. We do not collect your name, email, IP address, browser fingerprint, or any other identifier that could link the response back to you.

Contact form

If you use the contact form, we collect your name, email, the topic you selected, and your message, for the sole purpose of replying to you. Contact form messages are not added to any aggregate dataset.

What data is shared

Aggregate, de-identified results from the survey are published live on the results page. On request, we may share more detailed aggregate cuts with allied organisations, journalists, researchers, and parliamentarians on a non-commercial basis. We never share contact form messages outside the campaign.

Aggregate cells with fewer than 5 responses are suppressed in published outputs. This makes it impossible for any individual to be identified from the public data.

Cookies and tracking

OddsOffSport.org uses one piece of browser storage: a flag in localStorage that records whether you have already submitted the public sentiment survey. This is solely so the survey doesn't ask you to fill it in twice. It contains no other information.

We do not use third-party advertising trackers, Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, TikTok Pixel, Hotjar, or any similar service. We do not run advertising on this site.

Where data is stored

Survey responses are stored in a Google Sheets workbook accessed through a Google Apps Script web endpoint. Google Sheets is hosted by Google LLC and may store the data in data centres outside Australia. Aggregate-only outputs are served from this site, which is hosted on Australian-region web hosting.

Your rights under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth)

Because OddsOffSport.org collects only anonymous survey data, there is no individual record that could be requested, corrected, or deleted on a per-person basis. If you have used the contact form and would like the message deleted, email contact@oddsoffsport.org from the same address and the message will be removed.
